Wenli Yu, a serial entrepreneur and seasoned business executive of technology companies. Prior to co-founding Archimedes, Wenli served as General Manager and Legal Representative of JDSU, a global optical communications market leader responsible for its WOFE operations in China and strategic business expansion in Asia. He also built the company’s Broadband Network R&D Center in Shenzhen. Wenli has over 30 years of experiences in business development, building customer bases and distribution channels, R&D and manufacturing partnerships in North America, Asia and Europe for carrier and enterprise market as well as data centers. Before joining JDSU, Wenli founded and co-founded multiple technology companies backed by Silicon Valley and Mid-Atlantic based venture capitals and acquired by publicly traded companies (Lucent, Vina, PMC-Sierra ). Over the decades of his business career, he worked as Product Line Manager, Hardware Manager and was instrumental in developing, managing and winning market leadership positions for several brand-name communications products in the global communications markets. Wenli received his MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a Limited Partner (LP) and advisor of technology venture investment funds and Coach/Advisor of start-ups, entrepreneur and business associations and start-up accelerators. He also holds a number of U.S. patents in the area of optical technology.
Jim leads the global sales and business development organizations at Archimedes Controls Inc. He has more than 32 years of outstanding performance in sales leadership and profitable sales growth in the communications and networking infrastructure marketplace.
Jim has been involved and worked with over 12 technology start ups In his career. Most recently, Jim was the VP of Worldwide Sales & Business Development for Polatis Inc. which was sold to Huber + Suhner. Prior to that he held the position of Vice President of Sales and Services at Ellacoya Networks, which was acquired by Arbor Networks. Previous to that Jim was Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Service for Ocular Networks which was also acquired by Tellabs. Before Ocular/Tellabs, Jim helped with a wireless start up Trapeze Networks. Jim held the position of Vice President of Sales and helped start Advanced Switching Communications (ASC), where he was responsible for all sales and systems engineering. Before ASC, Jim held various key management and sales positions with the following: VP Sales at Data Labs bought by Yurie Systems which was later bought by Lucent: Director of Carrier Sales at Ascend Communications later merged with Cascade Networks; Eastern Regional Manager at Wellfleet Communications, Inc. merged and became Bay Networks. Jim also started the Data Sales group at Anixter Inc
Tom Tan received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Tongji University. He has more than 20 years of experience in software and hardware development. He was the principal investigator for multi-million dollar US Department of Energy founded energy projects. He led the building technology laboratory design, construction and operation in University of Nevada Las Vegas. He worked as senior energy consultant for HDR Inc. and helped hundreds of clients save tens of millions of dollars in energy projects. He founded building design software company HDY Inc. and smart environmental sensor company EGREEN Inc.. He holds more than 10 patents and software copyrights. He has published more than 50 articles and is a licensed professional mechanical engineer, a Certified Energy Manager and a LEED Accredited Professional. He also serves as a voting member of the ASHRAE Standard 209 Committee.
Jumie drives product roadmaps working closely with Sales, Engineering, Go-to-Market partners, and Users to ensure Archimedes' offerings remain best-in-class and maximize stakeholder values.
Jumie has over 15 years of experience in technology, manufacturing, and construction industries. He has performed as Engineer-of-Record for billions USD of commercial-industrial construction projects (including data centers); launched new products/assemblies for rapid-installation of MEPF building systems; produced electronics for use in built environments and computing equipment; and also developed enterprise software for various levels of automation and building management. He has held technical leadership, operations, business development roles at companies such as Katerra (a technology/construction company), Construction Innovations (a construction product company), Rex Moore (a design-build contractor), and Tesla (a car and energy storage product company). He received a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from City University of New York, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. also from Stanford where he focused on Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. He has first authored many technical/scientific publications published in journals curated by IEEE, ASCE, Elsevier, etc. in addition to patents and copyrights.
